Coach Tom Hinojosa established the All American Archery youth program at the Stevens Creek range in 2006. That program expanded over the years and eventually became a registered JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) club with the National Archery Association & USA Archery. It is now know as the All American Archery Youth Archery Academy and the program’s focus is to provide young archers a solid foundation in the sport of archery, anchored in the knowledge of proper shooting technique.
Overseeing the instructional programs is USA Archery Regional/High Performance, Level 4 Instructor, Coach Tom Hinojosa.. The JOAD program is also coached with the help and support of the All American Archery team of instructors, each of whom is a USA Archery certified instructor and avid archer.
Tom Hinojosa firmly believes that archery is an individual sport and a lifetime skill, teaching students that success in archery requires self-discipline and attention to detail. Along with shooting the bow and arrow comes responsibility, focus and consideration for others. In the All American Archery Youth Archery Academy individual and group coaching is given throughout the class session. Every archer progresses at their own pace based on individual ability.
Our program is divided into two strands based on the USA Archery Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program. All classes are open to girls and boys who are interested in developing consistent shooting ability by working on fundamentals of good archery form and shooting technique.
Strand A: The JOAD EXPERIENCE
A recreational archery program for young archers ages 7-17, who want to learn about the sport of archery and develop their own personal knowledge and skills in order to more fully enjoy the practice of archery in a structured, but fun, safe and supportive environment.
Strand B: Junior Olympic Archery Development Competition Team
A select group of dedicated young archers ages 8-17 who regularly participate in state, national, and local competitive archery events and are committed to devoting time and effort to fully develop their personal archery skills. Participation in this group requires a completed application and interview of the student and parents with one or more team coaches. New applicants are accepted only when space on the team is available.
